Objectives and roles about the project: "Our ideal school"

OBJECTIVES

“Rigatoni´s Angels” made a really great job that has a lot of information and funny scenes. They begin with a real situation where a teacher shout to the students, order a lot of homework and feel dissatisfaction. They want to transmit us the most common things that are the responsible of the failure of the education system.

Next, they went to the School where the mother of Maria for asking some questions to the teachers, parents and also the kids. I think that this part was very interesting because they show us the importance of the good relationship between the school and families. The parents have a good idea about the center but some of them complain about the things that at the first part were mentioned like bad ones, the excess of homework for example. The answers of the kids were really sincere and funny.

Then, coming back to the start of the video, the teacher of the beginning with some other teachers travel to the future with the intention of knowing how educate there. They learn how to work in groups, the organization of the building and the classes, the inclusive philosophy, professional community, adaptation and many great ideas mentioned before.
At the final of the video, they dance a song very famous at the moment that makes the video funnier than the others. In my opinion, this is the best project and I think that they deserve the higher mark. All the ideas showed are very interesting, important and the relation with the practice is very good and also creative.

“La banda del patio” presented a god job although their problem with the video because they have finished their work and suddenly the video was deleted so they have to repeat it.
They used the famous cartoons of Disney called “La banda del patio”. They adapted the dialogues and try to explain the main ideas about a real and good education that are similar to the other groups’ ideas. They include funny scenes and also present the bad side of education, the things that a really good school should not have. This project emphasis in the idea of a professional community that has a good relationship with parents and students working for the inclusion together and the importance of the adaptation of the building for people with disabilities and the develop of the mind and the critical thinking.

Finally, I want to add that I enjoy a lot doing this job and my partners are excellent workers. I think that we can learn more doing that type of projects, funny and different because all of us are more involved and interested.

Our Ideal School



The second project was about how our ideal school would be. To fulfil it, we made videos with the theory to explain our point of view and the characteristics of our ideal school. The teacher asked us to answer the following questions: what are the main ideas? What did you like best? Is it creative?

Now I'm going to answer these questions, related to each group:


Futupasta:

         The main ideas of their video were that the school should be a place where you can express yourself, learning with the cooperative learning. Trust each other was also very important. The school should take into account the diversity and be equal for everybody, being as inclusive place while understanding each other points of views and learning by multiple ways, letting them choose. We have to open our minds to the new methods, for example, learning by playing. All the kids must have the right to learn and this learning should be focus on their necessities and it is also important learning by experience. 
         The teacher should be scaffolding for the students, a guider; and they keep on learning. One more important thing is the good communication between students and teachers.
         The building was divided in different floors, one for Kindergarten (with special places) and the others for Primary Education. The playground is in the centre and there are green spaces, sport facilities, as a swimming pool o a gym, an assembly hall, an IT room, a kitchen, a lab, a library, places for study, a special place of teachers to share their experiences.
         It was creative because they decided to create their video with a chapter of “Futurama” and the result was pretty good. What I like the best is the way they mix the theory with the chapter making a fun and entertaining video.


Rigatoni's angels:

          The main ideas of their video were that it is very important a good communication between the school and the parents, the use books should be less used, a change of the quantity of homework is very necessary because they should have less, and one very important thing, the political parties should agree in the laws of education. The classes should be experimental, not focus only on the content. The methodology needs a change, and we should introduce and use more the IT. 
          The teachers have to be training to understand and know the new methodology and more personal resources are required. The teachers also are the guiders.

          The classes also should have less students and educational resources. The cooperative learning should be taking into account and also the diversity in the classroom, with an equal environment where the differences and the participation are stimulated. Children should work in groups because it develops their personal skills and they learn to respect each other. They can have fun while they learn. It is also important do trips or assemblies to put things in common. 
           There are three buildings where they divided the classes and the spaces for students or teachers, with special resources for people with disabilities, and a library, labs, swimming pool, football, basketball, assembly hall, nursing, cafeteria, the kitchen, the offices of the teachers, playground and green zones. 


 La banda del patio:

         The main ideas are the free food as in Finland; teachers have to believe in their students. Trust is essential between teachers, students and parents. The school should be an inclusive place, adapting the curriculum as each school wants. Students should learn by cooperative learning and the critical thinking, thanks to the instructional triangle. The teachers should take into account the process not only the final note. There has to be a teacher’s community. 
          The school should have sports facilities, a swimming pool, a gym and a vegetable patch. The principal building is divided for the students and teachers. There is also a kitchen, a library, facilities for people with disabilities, green spaces, a lift. 


The differents:

         They create a funny video with a part from “The Simpsons” and they talk about the problems in class, as for the bad behaviour of the teachers, that don’t pay enough attention to the students. And also that they work individually. They also show their school with facilities for the children. They do a practical video with a song and I think that this a very good method to teach the children, because they learn by having fun.


The Rolkids:
        
       Main ideas: Firs of all, one phrase that appeared in the paper they gave us was “Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I learn”. That means that there has to be a good communication between students and teachers, who should be train and learning constantly. They talk about the inclusive school that offers different types of learning and takes into account the different characteristics of the children. Another interesting idea was that the children should be the creators of their own learning and that the IT should have a huge presence. 

         The school should have facilities for people with disabilities, labs, meeting rooms, exhibit spaces. What I like the most was that we should give the opportunity to the children to put in practice what they have learn in their homes, this makes stronger learning, because they mix it with the experience. They also talk about the educational triangle, that is very important to take into account because teachers, students and the content are equal, if one is missing, the others cannot work properly.

        What I like most was the school the made with “The Sims” and the video of the deft kid, that talks about the barriers that exists and that, if we want to, we can break this barriers and create an inclusive environment, focus on the diversity and the differences, telling the kids that they are special and equal despite their differences.

Rigatoni's angels

They did a video that was about the difference between the school of the past and the school of the future. It was very fun and easy to understand. 
In their video, there were some interviews. They interviewed the pupil's parents first, then teachers and after, the students. There were some good ideas as: change the actual methology, work in groups and experimentally, use more the new technologies, have less number of students per class, not put too much homeworks to children... 
In another way, they show us their ideas about the new school, for example: have an equal environment, eliminate the social exclusion, propmote the parcipation...
I like a lot too the scene where they show their ideal school and the presentation was very good because it was made in the sims and it is very easy to understamd and visual.

I like this video a lot because they show what they want in a creative way and I had a good time watching their work, specially for the funny video they did. 


La Banda del Patio

The animation of their video was taken of a chapter of the well knew serie "La Banda del Patio". In this video they showed us some ideas that I like a lot, like believe in children and in the community, respect the process of every children, and have some areas just for people with disabilities, that means, have an inclusive school. 

The Rol Kids

The idea of this groups was a little different of the rest. First, they gave to each group a magazine where they had written the main ideas and they had done a video with the explication of all the content of the magazine. 
Then, they showed us a video about their ideal school that, as in the last group, they had chosen to use the sims to do it. 
After this, they presented another two videos, the one that I liked the most was about a deaf boy, Pedro, who used to dream with an inclusive school. This video showed me the barriers that some children have and if we do not do any to help them, they could not learn.

The Rol Kids

The “Rol kids” was the group that shows us a different design. They made a great magazine very complete that has a lot of information and interesting ideas that probably has a good reception at the school. They were very creative because they put on this format the theory and presented the plan and organization of the building and the environment of it.
They represented the idea of an adapted education that promotes the inclusive learning and stimulates the imagination of kids. The map was very nice and after seeing that, they made a adaptation of a tale related to a deaf boy that needs to break the barriers for having a better life.
Also at the end of the job, they play another video about a school with their advantages and disadvantages.

In my opinion, I find very interesting the first video about the magazine and the organization of the school and I think that the two last ones are not necessary but I would like it a lot in other situation that fits better.

Presentations of the 19th of March: "Our ideal school"

During the last weeks, we have been watching the videos of the different groups, where students have reflected the bases and characteristics that their ideal schools have.

The first group was “Futupasta”, who presented a good job that contains all the criteria that this project had to have. They use a chapter of the famous cartoons called “Futurama” and decide to change the argument. The characters are looking for the ideal school and remember how their education some years ago was and how the education could be in the future.
The principal ideas that they have introduced in their video are: The adaptation, the use of new technologies, the learning for the different intelligences, cooperative work between kids and also professional community that try to help and are the scaffold in that process of acquiring knowledges.
They were very creative and I think that they included all the methodology and theoretical concepts that we read on the articles for preparing this project and new ideas that make it better. This job was fantastic and very complete.

The second group was “The differents”, they record a video divided in three parts. At the first one, they use a Simpson´s chapter adapting all the contents for the school, where they show us the principal problems of education with and ironic note. The character who was the teacher did not pay attention to the kids, punishing them and ordering a lot of homework. 
At the next part, they show us their distribution of the building, with special zones, sport places, the classrooms and the environment by some beautiful draws in a whiteboard and the last part was a simulated practical class where they emphasize in the idea of having class outside, on this case at the park for studying different subjects and topics at the same time.
 I think that they missed some theoretical advices but it was very funny and at the final part, they singed and danced a song related to the parts of the body and also show us their greatest and cutest scenes.


I like very much these two videos and I was very surprised by my classmates!
